Bad software, good article.

The latest issue of Business Week has a useful article about spyware, adware, homepage hijackers, and other annoying (or worse) software that installs itself on your computer if you click the wrong place while surfing the Web. The story includes tips on identifying, fixing, and preventing problems caused by these programs.

Computer classes in October.

The following classes for beginners are offered by the Library in October:

Wednesday, October 6 -- Microsoft Windows
Tuesday, October 12 -- PowerPoint
Wednesday, October 20 -- Excel
Thursday, October 28 -- Word

All classes begin at 6:30 p.m. Class size is limited, so advance registration is required. The fee for each class (payable at registration) is $10 for Homer Township residents and $20 for non-residents.

The Library will have an exhibit at the Homer Community Expo this Saturday. Stop by and say hello! The Expo is at Homer Junior High School, 15711 Bell Road, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on September 25.
