Geology Underfoot in Illinois, will talk about "Coal Swamps, Coral Reefs, and Continental Glaciers: A Look at Prairie-State Geology" at

As an optional convenience, Homer Township Library cardholders may now register with Library Elf, a service run by a private company that allows you to:
- Receive email notices before items are due.
- View due dates in a convenient calendar format.
- Consolidate information for all of the family's library cards.

To sign up with Library Elf, click here and follow the instructions. Select "HAL - Heritage Automated Libraries (IL)" as your library. If you haven't changed your PIN, it should be the last four digits of your library card barcode number.

October 5 is the last day to register to vote in the November 2 election. To register, you must be a U.S. citizen who will be at least 18 years old on election day. Will County residents may register at the Library by presenting two forms of identification (at least one i.d. with your current address). We're open from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. today and Tuesday.

Young visitors to the Library may build their reading skills by sharing a book out loud with a canine companion on Sunday, October 10, 4:30-7:30 p.m. Kids can gain confidence by reading to a patient, non-judgmental, trained therapy animal. For this session of Read With Rex, the dogs will be in costume! Registration is not required.

In celebration of Illinois Art Week (October 4-8), a special exhibit of works by members of the Lemont Artists' Guild is on display near the new books and magazines. Guild members will be demonstrating their talents at the Library on October 6 and 7, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
