* Summer reading wrap-up.

Our 2005 Summer Reading Club has come to an end, except for the program finale tomorrow morning:

Circus Boy
July 27, 10:00 a.m.
Schilling School Gym (due to space limitations at the Library)

Bobby Hunt's show is a blend of audience participation, stand-up comedy, and circus skills. You're welcome to attend this free performance, even if you weren't one of our Summer Readers. (1276 people participated this year!)

We've already contacted the winners of the bear, baskets, and other big prizes. Thanks to all our readers and Youth Activity Club volunteers, and a special thank-you to the people and businesses who donated prizes for Summer Reading.

* Books and bears and dogs ... Oh, my!

Our Summer Reading Program continues through July 23. Among the donated prizes readers can win is Homer, the Superhero Bear (pictured at right). He's bigger than many children who visit us!

Don't miss our special Superhero Dogs presentation, at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20. Due to space limitations at the library, this free program will be held in the Schilling School gym.

Superhero Dogs will feature:
  • A member of the Will County Sheriff's canine unit.
  • A leader dog for the blind.
  • Service dog Koda from Paws With a Cause.
  • Dr. Mary Beth with Frankie and Glacier.
  • Agility dogs Murphy, Snickers, Flurry, Maggie, and Morgan.
