* Family book discussion.

The family book discussion group will meet once a month for an hour. The next group meeting will be Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. This month's book is Runt by Marion Dane Bauer.

At each meeting, families will discuss the selected material, share recommendations, and enjoy a snack. Books will be available for check-out at the Library several weeks prior to discussion. This group is a great way for families to share their love for reading!

The family book discussion group is for 3rd-6th graders and their mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, babysitters, older siblings, etc!

* Science Fair resources.

We're a few weeks into the school year, so it's Science Fair time again! With a Homer Township library card, you can search encyclopedias, magazine articles, and science news in the Find It Online area of our Web site. The New Book of Popular Science, part of the Grolier Online reference suite, might be especially useful.

For project ideas, the E-Journal of Student Research is an excellent website. (It's a little old and is browsable only by the journal's issue dates, but there are a lot of experiments listed.) Here are a few more good sites for science fair research:

Inside the Library, we've set up special shelves of science fair project and reference books. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask!
