Dragonwings is a fascinating book about the struggle of Chinese immigrants who came over to America with the promise of high paying jobs. The story follows a young boy called Moon Shadow who goes to live with his father whom he has never met. During this time the Wright brothers are just beginning to become popular for the first flights. When Moon Shadow's father suddenly has a dream to fly one day and be like a dragon Moon Shadow is determined to help make his father's dreams come true. A Newberry Honor Book.
