* Spring break week: More music, and child ID cards.

Sing, dance, and sign with Emmy Award winner Gaia and Jonnie on Wednesday, March 29. This special show begins at 10:30 a.m. at Hadley School (15731 Bell Road). And don't forget to return to Hadley at 4:00 p.m. for Harry and the Potters.

On Friday, March 31, members of the Will County Sheriff's office will be at the Library between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to provide child identification cards. Parents who bring in their children will receive a card with a photograph, thumbprint, and other identifying information for each child. The parents' card is the only one made; the Sheriff's department does not keep a copy of the card or its information.

* Business plans and forms online.

We have several new online resources for businesses, which are available to Homer cardholders and visitors to the Library:

  • Business Plans Handbook: Hundreds of examples from real businesses, available to download and edit.

  • Thomson Gale LegalForms: Incorporation, employment, contracts, real estate, and other forms.

  • Hoovers.com Premium: Directory of millions of businesses, with detailed profiles of 40,000 major companies. (Available only on computers in the Library.)
See our Business Center page for links to additional resources. Our series of business computing classes continues, and a schedule of Thursday evening and Friday brown-bag lunch seminars will be announced soon.

Funding for this grant was awarded by the Illinois State Library (ISL), a Division of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), under the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).

* Bookmobile preview next 3 weekends.

Take a tour of the new Homer Bookmobile! Our bus begins making its stops around the community later this spring, but it'll be at the Library for you to see and walk through during the next three weekends.

Bookmobile preview schedule:

Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. until Noon
March 18, March 25, April 1

Sundays, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
March 19, March 26, April 2

* Free concerts!

We have two musical events happening soon:

1. Lee Murdock sings folk songs about the Great Lakes (with a special Irish-American focus) at the Library on Tuesday, March 14, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Free, but please call us at 708-301-7908 to let us know you're coming.
Harry and the Potters
2. We're also sponsoring a free all-ages show later this month! Harry and the Potters will rock at Hadley School (15731 Bell Road) for an hour starting at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29. If you want to know what they sound like, check out "Save Ginny Weasley" and a few more songs on the band's MySpace page.
