Need volunteer hours? Interested in helping others? Become a
Teen Intern at the Homer Township Library! Have fun while also gaining great experience for job and college applications! At the end of the summer, interns will receive a certificate showing their total volunteer hours.
We're looking for young people (aged 12 and up) for:
- Book Buddies -- Help younger children develop reading skills.
- Craft Leaders -- Lead craft sessions for younger children.
- Webbies – Help develop the teen library website and other web tools.
- Other volunteer opportunities are also available.

April 19, kids in grades 3 through 5 are invited to the Library for a

April 20, we're repeating our popular
eBay for Business seminar, presented by Vivienne Porter through a grant from the Illinois State Library. This class is part of our
Thursday evening series, and begins at 7:00 p.m.
Through the same grant, we're starting a series of
Lunch-and-Learn seminars on Friday afternoons. On
April 21, from noon until 1:00 p.m., Bob Hansen from Joliet Junior College's Small Business Development Center will speak on the topic of "Your Business Plan: Your Best Chance for Success." Lunch will be provided, through a donation from Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches.

More than 100 people rocked the gym when we brought
Harry and the Potters to Hadley Middle School last week. With the band's permission, we videotaped portions of the show and uploaded three clips, including the audience-participation song, "SPEW".

Our new series of Thursday evening business seminars begins this week. Rick Powell, from Edward Jones, will discuss
business retirement plans on April 6, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Future Thursday evening seminars will include:
eBay for business (April 20),
financing your business (May 11),
recordkeeping (May 18), and a series on
branding and marketing for success (April 27, May 25, June 1).
