The next Teen Techies meeting is Tuesday, May 27th. We’ll be looking at Scratch, a simple game design software, and continue working on other tech projects.
Over the summer, the dates and times of the Teen Tech meetings will change.
June 24th 4-5 pm
July 22nd 4-5 pm
August 19th 4-5 pm
Summer projects will include:
· Updating our website & del.icio.us account
· Intro to Qbasic (a simple computer programming language)
· Screencasting
· Google Tools
The application deadline for the Teen Summer Intern Program is almost here! If you would like to be a teen intern at the library this summer, please turn in your application by Saturday, May 24th. Applications are available at the library, or you can download one here!
Join us on Tuesday, June 3rd at 7 pm to discuss Carol Plum-Ucci's"The Night My Sister Went Missing" and talk about the other books you've been reading. Open to teens in 6th grade and up. The Teen Book Discussion group is looking to expand -- new members are encouraged to attend! Teens can pick up a copy of the book at the library's help desk.
Teens will learn how to make great long term decisions when it comes to earning, spending, saving, borrowing, investing, and managing money. The "Financial Fitness for Life" program is on Wednesday, May 28th at 7 pm. Teens participating in ENERGY will receive credit for attending this program.Join us for a series of fun teambuilding challenges with other teens! We'll be doing a series of activities that require teamwork, trust, communication, and problem-solving skills (kind of like the TV show Survivor, without being stuck on an island).
Learn how to use verbal and non-verbal communication skills to impress others! Teens participating in ENERGY will receive credit for attending this program.
The next meeting of the Teen Manga Group is on Thursday, May 15th at 7 pm. You'll learn how to submit manga reviews to be posted on the library's Teen Reviews website, and hear details about the group's first art and fanfiction contests! For teens in 6th grade and up. New members are welcome!
