Teen Manga Group's Cosplay Party Photos!

The Teen Manga Group's second cosplay party was a smash success! We had a fabulous time admiring each other's costumes, performing anime skits, and handing out raffle prizes (we want to give a big thank you to Lockport's own Amazing Fantasy Books and Comics for donating a gift certificate for their manga-filled store!) You can check out photos from the event on the library's flickr page by clicking here!

On the set up days, volunteers will be carrying boxes of books to the meeting room, organizing books by subject, and making promotional signs. On the days of the book sale, volunteers will be refilling empty tables, answering questions, and bagging sold items.

You can schedule your shifts in any way that works best for you (for example, from 2-3pm or from 2-4pm, etc.) The total amount of hours that you volunteer are also up to you. Teen Book Club: Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

Do you love to read? So you love to talk about good books with other teens? Then the Homer Library's TEEN BOOK CLUB is for you!

The Teen Book Club meets at the library on the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm. We discuss the monthly book selection (copies are available at the Help Desk on a display), talk about any other books -- good or bad! -- we've been reading since our last meeting, & eat yummy snacks!

The Teen Book Club is always looking for new members! Teens in 6th grade & up are invited to join. We're a friendly group & we'd love for you to be a part of the fun!

Our next meeting is Tuesday, August 5th at 7pm. We'll be discussing Uglies by Scott Westerfeld (click here to read a review of Uglies on www.teenreads.com!) & eating pizza! Hope to see you there!

Questions? Contact Heather Colby at (708) 301-7908 or hcolby@homerlibrary.org.
