DVDs at the Homer Library
Why not give a gift to the Homer Library this holiday? We are currently accepting new and gently used DVD movie donations to establish a new DVD collection. Children and family movies are our first priority, but we will gladly accept any donation (Homer Library reserves the right to add what is most appropriate for the collection and recycle what may not be added). Scholastic Book Fair at the Homer Library
The Homer Library is holding a Scholastic Book Fair from
Monday, December 8th through Sunday, December 14th! Items for sale include fiction and non-fiction books for children and teens (even some adult books too!), posters, crafts, activity books, and more. Stop by at any time during regular library hours to browse and purchase items (cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted). This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Homer Library. Story Time and Wiggles & Giggles
As a reminder to parents, this is the final week of Story Time and Wiggles & Giggles! Both programs end for the year as of December 11th. We look forward to seeing you again at the January sign-up for 2009 programs!
Mitten Drive
The Youth Advisory Committee is sponsoring a Mitten Drive at the library! We are accepting new gloves, mittens, hats, and scarves (and gently used winter coats) for men, women, teens, and children. Items can be dropped off at the library during the entire month of December. All items will be donated to a local shelter. Thank you for your support!

Barnes & Noble Bookfair: Saturday, Dec. 6th!

On Saturday, December 6th, the Homer Township Public Library is hosting a bookfair at Barnes & Noble in Orland Park. Plan your holiday shopping for that day and help out the library! Simply mention the Homer Library when you are making a purchase and a percentage of the net sales will be donated to the library for our collection and programs.
The bookfair runs from 9 am to 11pm, but stop by the store between 9am and 1pm for library-hosted events and complementary gift wrapping.
