DESCRIPTION:The Lemont Artists Guild is pleased to present Laurie Pollpete
 r Eskenazi, an award winning ceramic artist. She will talk about her clay 
 process and techniques that transform vintage designs into her unique cont
 emporary stoneware. Laurie’s pottery pieces are inspired by 19th and 20t
 h century traditional women’s needle crafts and also are most notably co
 llected because of her mastery of glaze patterning and critical attention 
 to detail.\r\nLaurie’s love for ceramics started in high school. When he
 r teacher could no longer teach Laurie new things, Laurie was able to take
  college classes in ceramics while still in high school. Laurie graduated 
 with a BFA from Chicago’s Art Institute.  Her pieces are one of a kind 
 and made with her own stamps and tools.\r\nLaurie does many shows each yea
 r besides selling in galleries around the country and in Canada, trade sho
 ws and Chicago’s One of a Kind show. Laurie works full time in her studi
 o building on her property and fires up her kiln at least once or twice a 
 week, sometimes daily. She will bring examples of her work and some clay a
