Meeting Room Use
The meeting room of the HOMER TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT is available for use, without charge, by not-for-profit, non-commercial corporations, civic groups or organizations/businesses located within the public library district. Applications for the use of the library's meeting room is available here. Completed applications may be returned to the library, scanned or emailed to askalibrarian@homerlibrary.org. It is recommended that requests be made weeks in advance. Please note that use of the room must be approved and is not guaranteed. The authorized use of said meeting room shall be in accordance with the guidelines, conditions and requirements listed on the application.
Circulation (borrowing) periods
Most items may be checked out for a three-week period. New items may be borrowed for two weeks. DVD's are checked out for two weeks. Items owned by other libraries may have different loan periods.
Library Cards
To apply for a card, present one item of identification with your current Homer Township address and a photo ID. Application for minors (under 16) must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. An online form is available here. Bring in and ID after 24 hours to pick up your card.
Renewals & Returns
Items can usually be renewed by phone, 708-301-7908, through our online catalog, or by calling our system toll free number, 888-542-7259. Some items may not be eligible to be renewed. Outside bookdrops are available for returns around the clock. Toll free renewals
Non-resident Library Cards
Contact the library if you are currently not being served by a library and wish to inquire about getting a card. Library phone number is 708-301-7908.
Code of Conduct
Anyone who engages in conduct that unreasonably disrupts or violates the atmosphere of the Library may be asked and required to leave the Library premises.
Internet Safety Policy
It is the policy of the Homer Township Public Library District to prevent user access over its computer network to, or transmission of, inappropriate material via Internet, electronic mail, or other forms of direct electronic communications.
Lost Cards
Please contact us immediately if your card has been lost, misplaced, or stolen. Notify us when you change your address, telephone, or name. If you lose your library card, replacements are free.
Lost/Damaged Items
Lost or damaged items are billed to you at the price listed in our system for each item.
